Are you making the most of your marketing, or do you simply go with the flow? If the latter, you could be missing out on valuable tools to optimize your marketing efforts and grow your business.  Throughout my 25 years as a marketing consultant, I’ve seen many small and medium-sized businesses rely on antiquated tools and softwares to perform their marketing, either because they’re comfortable with what they already have or they’re unaware of the newest technologies that exist.

Here are a few marketing tools I encourage you to integrate into your toolkit if you haven’t already done so.

Analytics software

When it comes to marketing, there are several channels that can provide you with valuable data to improve your business.  These include your website, social media, online advertising (i.e. Google Ads), and more.  Unfortunately, many businesses do not take advantage of this data that is readily available to them, oftentimes because they don’t know what to do with it.  While reviewing analytics isn’t difficult per se, it can be cumbersome and it does require understanding of certain marketing lingo.  By working with an agency such as CreativeWorks Marketing, we ensure first and foremost that your business has these tools installed and ready to go, and secondly we break the information down for you so it can be easily understood and applied to your business however you see fit.  Dare I say that of all the marketing tech tools available, this is probably the most important one so be sure to take advantage of it moving forward.

Email marketing software

Many clients I work with are familiar with email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact or MailChimp, but they tend not to use them to their full potential.  If you’re putting time and effort into writing an e-blast, chances are you want people to open it, especially considering the amount of promotional emails they may receive in a day.  And if you’re not using it at all, well…you may be missing out on a huge demographic.  According to Hubspot, 73% of millennials prefer to receive communications from businesses via email.  And now that COVID-19 has limited our face-to-face interactions with our customers, effective virtual communications are even more important than they used to be.   For email marketing software, I encourage you to take advantage of features such as pre-scheduling e-blasts, templates, and A/B testing.  By using these features, you’ll be able to optimize your email campaigns and increase your ROI when it comes to email marketing.  These softwares also provide analytics that can help you identify the best times to schedule emails based on the likeliness of your audience opening it at a given time.

Social media automation

Whether you’re a fan of it or not, social media is a big part of marketing these days.  Doing social media marketing the right way can take up a lot of your time; unless of course, you’re using automation to your advantage.  Many platforms allow you to schedule your content within the platform itself, or you can use a third-party platform such as Hootsuite.  This will ensure that your audience is seeing your posts when they’re supposed to.  For example, if your social analytics are showing that your audience is engaging with your content after office hours, you can schedule your content to appear at those times to optimize engagement.   I also recommend using social media automation because it provides you with more time to focus on what’s important: creating valuable content rather than spending the time posting it.  Or, you can opt to work with an agency such as CreativeWorks Marketing to create buzzworthy content that is relevant and engaging for your audience.

If you’re not already taking advantage of these essential marketing tools, don’t delay any longer!  Otherwise, you may be missing out on opportunities to grow your business.  For a complimentary assessment on your current marketing efforts, contact CreativeWorks Marketing today!
