Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology is a public college with locations across the GTA. It offers full-time and part-time programs at the baccalaureate, diploma, certificate, and graduate levels.

The Challenge

Seneca College was experiencing a low return rate on student surveys and were looking for an innovative idea that would allow them to hear student concerns.

Our Solution

CreativeWorks Marketing created an innovative solution to engage their students and provide feedback to the college on how Seneca could improve their services outside of the classroom.

We launched “In Your Own Words,” a campaign to engage and capture opinions from students in a fun and interactive way. We set up a “Speakers Corner” with a cameraman and interviewer at six campuses across the GTA. Within one week, we spoke with hundreds of students who were either taped on video or made an audio recording.

Results

With 800 student responses, it was the most successful student survey ever conducted at Seneca. As a result, Seneca made changes to improve their services, including longer hours for Student Services, library and computing commons, summer Skills Assessment, and better orientation.
